Try a Season Less-Visited .........

   can arrive as early as April at low elevations. It is an excellent time to take advantage of the end of the ski season while witnessing the awakening of spring on the valley floor. Sightseeing opportunities abound, although hiking is usually limited to lower elevations, there are opportunities to view beautiful blooming spring flowers & many returning birds.

Autumn

is perhaps the most beautiful time of year, no crowds, crisp blue skies, & mountains highlighted with fresh snow are a                      photographer’s dream.

This is the only time of year to take advantage of day hikes to hanging valleys filled with spectacular golden colored larch trees.

Winter

   Is a skier’s paradise with four major downhill ski resorts within a one hour drive. There is cross country skiing throughout the area, in addition to miles of groomed trails at the Canmore Nordic Centre, site of the 1988 Olympic Games Nordic events.
