Mount Assiniboine Lodge Winter Skiing - Lodge Rates

The winter season at Mount Assiniboine Lodge runs from mid-February until mid-April. The alpine basin where the lodge is located is surrounded by peaks which are ideal for cross country ski touring and telemarking. The snow pack can range from 2-3 meters (6-9 feet). It is not unusual to ski in powder snow in mid-April! We have beginner introductory tours which are designed for skiers who are interested in a slower-paced day. The advanced group does an extensive day tour which often includes telemark terrain. Instruction on technique is provided by the leaders. Lodge guides are trained and supervised by Sepp Renner, a U.I.A.G.M. professional mountain guide, and his son Andre Renner. Avalanche transceivers and climbing skins for skis are provided for guests at no charge. Ski rental services are available in Canmore or Banff or at the Lodge.
Assiniboine Provincial Park has excellent terrain for snowshoeing. Snowshoes are available at the lodge.
